HUMANS OF JJLHS
(Real People. Real
Stories.)
During the days of our
innocence, majority of our times were spent on running, playing, walking, and tugging
– related in the fields of leg and foot works.
But, what would happen
if you had Osteoporosis Imperfecta?
In the four – cornered
room of 10 – Charity, you would find a fearless individual who lives in the
world of Brittle Bone Disability or also known as Osteoporosis Imperfecta. You
would find her listening to Yeng Constantino while drawing her favorite Anime
Characters. Sometimes, eating biscuits while etching her calligraphy art.
Upon birth, her
parents knew that their young one had that affliction, they described the
immersion as “difficult” despite of the difficulty and hardness - They accepted
the fact and moved on. “She is a gift from God” both opined.
“Nabubully ako”
Even Ysha is not
innocuous from the ground of bullying. “Nabubully ako ng mga bata na mas bata
sa age ko” She doesn’t mind it stating that they do not know what they’re
doing. “hindi ko nalang sila pinapatulan” she answers firmly. The fan of Yeng
Constantino has been driven to the verges of almost giving up and questioning
God. “Minsan, natatanong ko na si God kung bakit ba binigyan ako ng ganito e”
though curiosity kills the cat, she finds her disability as a gift on a more
optimistic side. “Baka binigay ni Lord ‘to kasi may plano sya, may meaning baka
gano’n” Her positive side keeps her moving from life’s hindrances and
downfalls.
Childhood Deprived?
No.
During her days of
playing Barbie Dolls and watching cartoons, she often had this “envious” side
of her when she saw children playing outside, doing an array of physical
activities and outdoor chores. “Nainggit ako sa kanila” Her condition is the
number one setback from such doings. “Hindi ako makatakbo, makapaglaro ng
maraming bagay” replied with a deep sigh. But, despite of being deprived from
outdoor activities, she had companions who could play dolls, watch cartoons and
render drawings with her inside the vicinity. Childhood Deprived? No!
People often
underestimated her inner potentials, stating that “Hindi naman n'ya kaya 'yan
‘e”, “’Yan kaya? Sus” People who pull you down is an essential part of success,
she believes. “Kahit na gan’to ako, kahit na may kapansanan akong tao may
maipagmamalaki ako sa kanila” through writing, and studying hard, the follower
of Jesus Christ has an idea that she would prove them wrong. “Kung kaya nila,
kaya ko rin” She had put a knot in her journey in 9th Grade with Honors.
Ysha Pandaan wants to
embark a journey in any ground of Psychology, Law, Accountancy or in
Journalism. She is currently in ANG HUKOM, Judge Juan Luna High School’s
Filipino Newspaper Publication, 15 years of living and 15 years of perspiring
to keep moving forward. She hopes to extend hand to people who needed it the
most. “Gusto kong makatulong sa mga taong nangangailangan” referring to her
simple gestures “Kahit sa maliliit lang ba”
“Always seek optimism
in a world of negatives. Do not treat life’s setbacks as problems but treat
them as training grounds to make you better” her message for everyone.
Indeed, this young lad
proved that no matter what disability you have, as long as you do not hurt
anyone, you would succeed. No matter what it takes.
